Heya. True to my normally flaccid word (when it comes to writing commitments, anyway), this ‘un is the promised red-headed stepchild to the newly roid-raging Wreckless Conjecture. Just to simplify stuff, I plan on posting on all matters artistic and political here. There are several reasons for the split, but I just found the modus operandi of the original blog to be a bit unwieldly. Also, Wreckless is linked to Dave Dameshek’s ESPN page, and I don’t want a situation where sports fans have to wade through a slough of extraneous crap to reach the endpoint of entirely disagreeing with my puck/pigskin/baseball/hoops opinions. I’m nothing if not thoughtful.
Moreover, I’ve been posting WAY too many Facebook status updates and links to assorted articles, so figure that a bunch of that junk can be dumped in these parts instead. Landfill bylaws are lax around here, see. I blurted something in ‘Wreckless’ about write-ups of the five-star records in my collection, and that’s going to happen at the newbie.
In sum, the two blogs make for a nice bisection: sports and arty-ness. By the by, just to junk any mystery from moment one, the rad name for this blog comes from the lead single of Pavement’s last record, Terror Twilight. In closing, I hope everyone sorta likes this thing, and feel that separating my loves (sports and art) is probably the most logical move at the end of the day.
